Past
Performances:
We sang at the Mayor's Carol
service at St. Michael's Church in Alnwick on the 19th Of December. For the choir this
was a joyous and honorable
occasion, and for the congregation an opportunity to sing
with us some famous carols and to listen to some less well known ones.
We sang 'Tomorrow shall be my dancing day' (Gardner) and Carols Four.
The church was beautifully lit with hundreds of candles, adding to the
atmosphere.

Our coffee morning on
the 3rd December in the Northumberland hall in Alnwick was very
successful with many happy visitors
July 2011: St. Mary's Church,
during the Ponteland Flower Festival we sang some old time favourites as
well as some newly learned songs, such as Anthem the Musical.
Spring 2011: we
performed at two weddings with new songs, such as 'Here, there and
everywhere' from, of course, the Beatles.
May saw us singing in
Lesbury, in the cosy church. In the interval there was excellent wine
and cheese.
March 2011 we returned to Hindmarsh Hall in Alnmouth, which is
always a favourite place to sing. New songs performed were amongst
others 'Run' from Snowpatrol.
Christmas 2010
Unfortunately
the planned concert in the Hindmarsh Hall, Alnmouth had to be cancelled due to adverse weather conditions, however the choir
did manage a performance in Church Lane, Alnwick, where residents heard and joined in singing a variety
of Carols. This popular concert was enjoyed by audience and choir alike.
Autumn Concert

the leadership of our new musical director, Hannah, proved very successful and was well received by a very appreciative audience.

time I Feel the Spirit'.

Music for a Spring Evening ~ Longframlington
UR Church
On the beautiful spring evening of Friday, 21st May the choir performed a concert to
an almost full United Reformed Church in Longframlington. The programme of varied music included piano solos by
Margaret Spence; the very appreciative audience heard her play 'Do, Do, Do' and 'The Man that I Love',
both by Gershwin. The audience received another treat when guest soloist, Hannah Barham sang 'O Mio
Babbino Caro' by Puccini and 'All That Jazz' by Kander, the latter getting a tremendous ovation from those present.
Spring Concert at St Mary's Church, Wooler
Bailiffgate Singers' Spring Concert was held at St Mary's Parish Church
in Wooler on the 12th March. The programme comprised a mix of both secular and sacred works including Vivaldi's
'Gloria', Faure's 'Cantique de Jean Racine' and 'Intermezzo from Cavalleria Rusticana' by Mascagni.
The concert was well received by a welcoming and appreciative audience.
CHRISTMAS
CONCERT 2009
The Bailiffgate Singers' Christmas Concert, performed annually at the
Hindmarsh Hall in Alnmouth was held on December 4th. The programme ranged from contemporary pieces such as
John Taverner's 'The Lamb', to more classic works including 'Cantique de Jean Racine' by Gabriel
Faure. Traditional carols were sung by both choir and audience along with
such festive favourites as 'White Christmas' and 'Mary's Boy Child'.
